Joanna d'Entremont
Joanna Rose d’Entremont, age 101, of Villa St. Joseph du Lac, Dayton and formerly of West Pubnico, died December 2, 2025 in the Villa. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Oscar William and Anne Arthenise (d’Entremont) d’Entremont. She was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 66, Ladies Auxiliary, Les Nouveaux Horizons and Les Dames de Ste. Anne. Joanna is survived by sons; Terry (Cecilia), Lower West Pubnico, Denny (Joan), Glen Haven, daughters; Greta (Walton) Smith, North East Point, Doris (Daryl) Amirault, Lower West Pubnico, Gloria (Bobby) Nickerson, Centerville and Louise (David) Doucette, Yarmouth, sisters; Stella Greene, Lower West Pubnico and Margaret Rose Seed, Ottawa, a sister-in-law; Anne d’Entremont, Lower West Pubnico, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Marc Joseph d’Entremont, a son Terrence and 3 children in infancy, brothers; Joseph and Joseph, both in infancy and Blaise d’Entremont, sisters; Isabelle d’Entremont, Vivian Brown and Colette Quilan.
Visitation will take place Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 10:30-11am followed by a Mass of Christian burial with Fr. Cyrille Assihou officiating, all taking place in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico. The funeral service will be live streamed on the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services Facebook site. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to St. Peter’s Church Heating Fund or to a charity of choice. On line condolences may be forwarded to westpubnicofh.com. Mame was a homemaker and a seamstress for the community, making dresses and hemming clothes. She was an avid quilter, made many quilts throughout her life and really enjoyed going quilting twice a week with the New Horizons. She loved to sing and would sing all day long as she worked in the house. She always had a cookie jar filled with chocolate chip cookies for anyone that visited.
