She also worked as a laboratory technician within the department of Biochemistry at the Sir Charles Tupper Building at Dalhousie University, assisting researchers at the time studying estrogen hormones and their relationship to cancer.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of Denise’s friends who through their care, kindness and compassion allowed her to remain in the comfort of her own home for as long as possible. They would also like to send a heartfelt and special thank you to Clifton and Roseline for always being there for Denise especially during her final weeks and days.

The family would also like to acknowledge Denise’s long-time dear friend George who has always been there for her. Together they would often take car rides to Barrington and stop at some of their favourite places to share a meal. Over the years they have made many memories together.
