Celeste Amirault

Amirault, Celeste Marguerite, age 90, died April 10, 2021 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in West Pubnico, she was a daughter of the late Stanislaus and Marie Helene (d’Eon) Pothier.  She was a member of Les Nouveaux Horizons de la Barronie and Les Femmes Acadiennes.  She is survived by sons; Louis Robert (Odette), Lower West Pubnico, Gerard (Shelley), West Pubnico; daughters, Marlene (Douglas) Goreham, Wood’s Harbour, Adele (Adelbert) Roberts, Barrington; grandchildren, Jessica, Nina and Philip, great grandchildren Meredith and Brody.  She was predeceased by her husband Basil; brothers, Paul and Simon; sisters, Claire, Adele and Marie and a granddaughter Brianna.  There will be no visitation by request.  A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11am on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico with Fr. Cyrille Assihou officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Due to COVID-19 regulations family will be given priority seating and masks are mandatory.  The funeral will be live streamed on the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services Facebook site beginning at 11am. Donations in memory may be made to Le Musée Acadien or to a charity of choice.  On line condolences may be forwarded to the family at westpubnicofh.com.

Mame était une bonne femme Acadienne aka M/C and/or Mama Celeste by her sons in law and extended english family. She loved sewing & quilting and meeting with her friends at Le Musée and Les Nouveaux Horizons. Her hands were never idle and always had a project on the go. She will be greatly missed by her children, grand-children and great grand-children.
