She was recognized as a volunteer, president and member of various organizations including Red Cross, Ladies Auxiliary of Legion, Branch 66 West Pubnico, East Pubnico New Horizons, Middle East Pubnico Home and School, Canadian Cancer Society, Radio CIFA, l’Association des Acadiennes d’Argyle and Les Dames de Ste-Anne.  Our mother was a devout Catholic.  She was a choir member, did the readings, washed the linens and administered the communion to the shut-ins.

She was extremely proud of her family.  She taught us the value of paying it forward by doing kind deeds for others and often going beyond her own needs and desires.  She liked being hostess to invited guests and drop in visitors who came to chat.  You didn’t leave her house without being given a drink or food, a plant or a photo or a blessing.

We would like to sincerely thank the staff of the Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac for all they did for our Mom.

‘Ce n’est pas ce qu’on fait pour soi-même, c’est ce qu’on fait pour les autres qui compte.’ This was our Mom’s motto: It’s not what you do for yourself, it’s what you do for others that counts.
