Madeleine Amirault
It is with great sadness that the family of Madeleine Francoise Amirault (d’Eon), age 102, announces her passing on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at "The Meadows, Home for Special Care" in Yarmouth NS. Born in Pubnico, she was the daughter of the late Marie Odelle d’Eon (d’Entremont) and Sylvain Agapit d’Eon.
Mom was very community minded. She was involved in numerous nonprofit organizations such as "Les Dames de Ste Anne, Les Nouveaux Horizons de la Baronnie, La Societe Historique Acadienne de Pubnico Ouest , Les Femmes Acadiennes, Region d’Argyle and Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion.
She is survived by her daughter, Genesta (Wayne) Doucette, Bell Neck, grandchildren, David (Angela) d’Entremont, Fredericton, Ginette (Brent) Stevens, Halifax, Wade (Jennie) Doucette, Yarmouth, Matthew Doucette, Truro and Jason Doucette, Seattle Washington; great grandchildren, Isaac Melanson, Yarmouth, Jack and Lily d’Entremont, Fredericton, Austin Stevens, Halifax and Brooke and Luke Doucette, Yarmouth.
She was predeceased by her husband, Benoit Augustin Amirault and daughter, Judith Anne d’Entremont; siblings, Adolph d’Eon, Jane Rose d’Entremont, Edgar d’Eon, Nellie d’Entremont and Augustin d’Eon.
Mom was a lovely person (my angel on earth) whom everyone loved. She always made visitors feel welcome and she never complained nor raised her voice. She lived day to day, never had much but gave with her heart. She will be fondly remembered by the many lives she touched with her kind heart and selflessness.
A celebration of life will be held at the Pubnico Funeral Home @ 2pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2020 with Father Beni officiating. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, only immediate family members may attend. There will be no visitations. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Madeleine may be made to le Societe Historique Acadienne de Pubnico Ouest or a charity of your choice.
