Lucille d'Entremont

Lucille d'Entremont

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our aunt, Lucille Marie Therese d’Entremont age 98 of Nakile Home for Special Care, formerly of Middle West Pubnico on October 6, 2020.  Born in Middle West Pubnico, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Therese d’Eon.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Gerald and two brothers; Alderic and Leonce.  In her working life she was a teacher and vice-principal of École Pubnico Ouest.  Her love for her community made her a great leader and volunteer.  She was an active member of numerous community organizations such as the Women's Auxilliary of the Yarmouth Regional Health Center, Alumni Association of NSTU, Ladies Auxiliary of the West Pubnico Legion Branch 66, Comité des aînees et aînes de la region d’Argyle and also a member of Les Nouveaux Horizons de la Baronnie, to name a few.  She received numerous awards for her volunteering from the Province of Nova Scotia.

Quilting was a passion of hers and many nieces and nephews have received quilts made by her loving hands. Many trips were made to Panier d’Art with her best friend Celina LeBlanc.  She was an aunt who loved like a mother though she never had children of her own.  Her strength in her faith helped her through her last few days on this earth.  She was a precious gift from God with so much beauty, grace, love and patience.  She touched our hearts in so many ways.  Her strength and smile even on dark days, made us realize that we will always have an angel by our side.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 9th from 9-10am in the West Pubnico Funeral Home in Middle West Pubnico.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10:30am in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico with Fr. Albeni d'Entremont officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemtery.  Donations may be made to St. Peter's Roman Catholic Cemetery or to a charity of choice.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions masks must be worn in the funeral home and the church.  Online condolences may be forwarded to the family at westpubnicofh.com.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middle West Pubnico.  902 762-3407

A special thank you to Pont du Marais Boarding Home, Surf Lodge Nursing Home and Nakile Home for Special Care for your compassion and thoughtfulness in the care of our Aunt Lucille.

When lessons of life are over and God says, "School is dismissed" may we all meet in Heaven together and none of our friends be missed.
