Anselm d'Entremont

Anselm Joseph d’Entremont, age 100 of Lower West Pubnico died February 5, 2020 at home.  Born in Lower West Pubnico, he was a son of the late Leo and Eva (d’Entremont) d’Entremont.  He was a retired mechanic and a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 66, West Pubnico for over 60 years.  He is survived by his wife Aline Catherine (d’Entremont) d’Entremont, sons; Lorne and Wesley (Kay) both of Lower West Pubnico, a daughter Maxine (Troy) Stoddard, Wood’s Harbour, a brother Maurice, Halifax and four grandchildren; Blake, Leo, Brittany and Jordan.  He was predeceased by his brother Willis, sisters; Marion and Doris.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 7-9pm in West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle West Pubnico.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at 2pm in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Middle West Pubnico with Father Cyrille Assihou officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Donations in memory may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund or VON Yarmouth Branch.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the West Pubnico Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middle West Pubnico, 902 762-3407

Anselm was the last surviving veteran of  World War II from the Pubnico area, having served overseas for 4 years.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in the great outdoors.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as reading and crossword puzzles and had a great memory.  He will be missed by all.  xo
